Overcome

This week I had the opportunity to attend The Nashville Blogging Collective’s “Nashville Blogger Bash”, which was the first event I’ve attended with other Nashville bloggers! I had so much fun meeting new girls that understand the constant struggle of this whole blogging world. Everyone was so encouraging and uplifting, and I was able to learn all kinds of things from the panel of speakers. My main take away from this event was that no matter how many (or how few) followers you have, as long as you’re creating original content and having fun, it’s worth it!

Follow my fellow Nashville bloggers Faryn and Hannah, too! They’re the sweetest!

When I first started this blog, I wasn’t in a great place. I was struggling with severe anxiety and depression, so much so that I was spending most days in my room. The only reason I left the house was to go to doctor’s appointments or counseling, anything else seemed pointless. This time last year if you had told me I’d be attending a blogging event, by myself, in a building I’d never been to before, and without knowing a single person going, I would have rolled my eyes and said, “yeah..ok”. But here I am, a year later, and I can proudly say that I did attended this event! This doesn’t mean I wasn’t nervous, or even a little uncomfortable for the first few minutes of the event. Because I was. Whether it’s taking a few deep breathes or saying a quick prayer, I’ve learned how to deal with those feelings as they come up.

I know this doesn’t have a lot to do with the event, but this was something that had been on my heart this week. If you’re someone that’s going through a rough patch, just know that cheesy line everyone gives you is true. It does get better. You will get better. And you will be so proud of yourself, as you should be, because it’s not easy! So, take it one day at a time, and don’t be too hard on yourself. Remember, everyone improves at their own pace.

I also wanted to take a moment to thank all the sponsors that made this event possible. Y’all check them out!
